BidForJunk (“BidForJunk,” “we,” “us”) is a junk-removal marketplace operated by Cybererrands Solution Inc. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using bidforjunk.com or our SMS program, you agree to this policy.
We collect information you provide when you create an account, post a job, or bid on a job — your name, email address, mobile phone number, service area, job photos and descriptions, and payment details processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Haulers additionally provide business and identity-verification information. We also collect basic usage and device data to operate and secure the service.
We use your information to run the marketplace: to match customers with local haulers, deliver bids, process payments, verify hauler identity, provide customer support, prevent fraud, and send you account and service messages (including by email and SMS) related to your activity on the platform.
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, BidForJunk sends you text messages about your account and activity — for example new-bid alerts, job matches and status updates, booking and payment confirmations, and identity-verification prompts. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP or emailing support@bidforjunk.com. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors that support the service (such as our SMS provider, Twilio) is limited to delivering the messages you have requested. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared with any third parties for their own marketing.
When you accept a bid and the platform fee is paid, we share the contact details needed for the two of you to complete the job (e.g., the customer’s address and phone are released to the winning hauler). We share data with service providers who help us operate — payment processing (Stripe), messaging (Twilio, Resend), hosting, and analytics — under agreements that limit their use of it. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our users and the platform. We do not sell your personal information.
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Identity documents submitted for verification are stored privately and retained only as long as needed for compliance and dispute-defence purposes. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data.
You can update your account details, unsubscribe from marketing email at any time, and opt out of SMS by replying STOP. You may request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Rights vary by jurisdiction (including under Canada’s PIPEDA and CASL).
