BidForJunk is an online junk-removal marketplace operated by Cybererrands Solution Inc. This page describes our SMS text-message program: who we message, how users give consent to receive texts, the types and frequency of messages, and how to opt out.
Messages are sent by BidForJunk (Cybererrands Solution Inc.) to registered customers and haulers who have provided their mobile number and agreed to receive texts. We do not buy phone numbers or send messages to people who have not signed up on bidforjunk.com.
Consent is collected through a web form on bidforjunk.com. When a hauler creates an account at bidforjunk.com/provider/signup, or a customer creates an account or posts a job, they enter their mobile phone number and check a consent box that is unchecked by default. The checkbox reads:
“I agree to receive SMS text messages from BidForJunk about my account, bids, and job updates at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. See our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy and Terms.”
A user must actively check that box to submit the form. No text messages are sent unless the box is checked. Consent to receive SMS is not required to browse the site and is not a condition of any purchase.
Messages relate to a user’s own account and activity on the marketplace, for example: new-bid alerts, job matches and status updates, booking and payment confirmations, and identity-verification prompts. Example messages:
Message frequency varies based on your account activity (for example, how many jobs you post or bids you receive). Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time — you will receive one confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or email support@bidforjunk.com. You can also reply START to resubscribe.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent are used only to deliver the messages described above through our messaging provider (Twilio). Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
